Who you'll work with

I’ve been building software for a little over ten years, by way of games and security tooling before settling into the web. That turned out to be useful training: games teach you to care about performance because players feel every dropped frame, and security teaches you to assume everything breaks, usually with help. Web work rewards both instincts daily.

Convoke is a studio of one, on purpose. The person you talk to on the first call is the person who scopes the work, writes the code, and answers for it afterwards: no account managers, no handoffs, nothing lost in translation. (Yes, that also makes me the design team, the project manager, and the QA department. We’re all very aligned.)

Most of what I ship goes out under other people’s brands. Agencies win work that needs building; I build it; their clients never hear my name. I like the arrangement: they keep the relationship and the credit, I keep the work varied and interesting.

I’m based in Vancouver, BC, working with agencies and growing companies across Canada, the UK, and the US. The company is registered in England & Wales. Convoke started there and moved west with me.
